Biography

Dr Kola Akinlabi is an internationally recognised specialist in Respiratory Medicine, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Rehabilitation, and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. He is the MD/CEO of 360 Medicx Harley Street Clinic, combining leadership with active clinical practice.

He trained at University College London (UCL) School of Medicine, gaining an MSc in Advanced Cardiorespiratory Medicine and Physiotherapy, and completed sub-specialty training in ICU Neuro-rehabilitation at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stoke Mandeville, and general respiratory medicine at King’s College Hospital. He holds a PhD in Respiratory and Pulmonary Rehabilitation from the University of Essex, with further postgraduate training in Independent Prescribing and Neurorehabilitation.

Dr Akinlabi has led respiratory and rehabilitation services across major NHS trusts, including Imperial College Healthcare, Whittington Health, Barts Health NHS Trust, and Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals. His expertise includes managing complex respiratory failure, chronic lung disease, and post-ICU recovery, with a strong focus on improving lung mechanics, exercise capacity, and patient quality of life.

Teaching & Research

Dr Akinlabi lectures at Middlesex University and has delivered more than 200 GP and healthcare professional training sessions on COPD, frailty, and pulmonary rehabilitation. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences, including the British Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society congresses. His research has focused on pulmonary rehabilitation, frailty in COPD, and novel interventions such as neuromuscular electrical stimulation in severe lung disease.
